File Your Taxes for FREE Online

If you earned less than $58,000 in 2009 and have an email address, you qualify for free tax filing online. Through our software partner, H&R Block TaxCut®, you can file your state and federal taxes at no cost to you.

What You Need to Get Started

  1. Here's a helpful reference form that makes sure you have all of the information you will need to do your taxes for free online.
  2. Get your paperwork together. Grab the tax forms from your employer – W-2s or 1099s – and last year's tax forms.
  3. Get informed. Do you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Homebuyers Tax Credit? If so, you could be eligible for a big tax refund. If you added a baby to your family, took care of elderly parents, or attended college, you could get an EITC tax credit. Learn about the different credits you may qualify for.

Click this button to go to our partner site, H&R Block TaxCut®. Using the free tax preparation software is simple, fast, and secure. Your information will always remain private and confidential. Plus, you can verify that all of the calculations are correct when you file electronically. If you can’t finish filing all at once, you can come back later; TaxCut® software saves your work at every step.

Returning H&R Block users: If you created an H&R Block account prior to February 5, 2010, you will have to reset your H&R Block password. Please watch this video if you have any questions about what you'll need to do.

Your information will never be shared with other online sources.
